Contra-indications to Intravenous Contrast Medium


  • Impaired renal function
  • History of prior allergic reaction to iodinated contrast medium
  • Severe asthma or congestive heart failure
  • Diabetic patient on metformin
  • Multiple myeloma or sickle-cell anemia
